About Me

For as long as I can remember, I've always been a Spider-Man fan. I can in fact still recall sitting in front of our old CRT tv in the mid seventies waiting with growing anticipation for the original Spider-Man cartoon from the sixties to come on so I could get my fix, You know the one right.....the classic theme tune "Spider-Man, Spider-Man.....does what ever a Spider can" sorry got carried away for a moment but if that doesn't jog your memory this will.

My Spider-Man Journey Started here
From watching that i was hooked instantly, it was love at first sight. at that point i didn't even know there was such a thing a comic books let alone Spider-Man comic books.

My First Spider-Man book
It wasn't till i was at school in the early 1980's that i discovered that particular joy that only a new issue of a comic book can bring. My portal entry into the comic world of Spidey came via the Marvel Uk comic book series "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" My world then opened up and from that moment on it's been my goal and dream to collect every single issue of Amazing Spider-Man that I could. That's where this blog comes in.

The aim of this blog is to catalogue my journey of achieving the dream and taking you along for the ride. hopefully you'll stay for the duration. Over the years I've continued to grab issues where and whenever i could, hopefully I've made 8 yr old me proud to this point as I'm just shy of half a full run. in fact to date my "Amazing Spider-Man" comic collection totals around 346 issues (with a further 300 or so in other Spider-Man titles). so still a bit of a fair way to go. However the fun is in the chase right.

I don't only spend my time writing this blog. I also am a feature writer/ columnist for a website Unleash The Fanboy where we write articles and inform Fanboy and Girls of the latest goings on in the world of Fandom. why not check us out?

You can contact me here via the comments section of this blog should you wish to discuss comics or my quest or follow my journey on my Google+ page or like our Facebook Page for updates on latest blog entries. additionally you could just follow me on Twitter @telfirth

Thanks for reading.

  1. Aloha,
Best wishes on developing your collection. I started mine back in the 1960's and then once I became a teenager dropped it. As an adult, I got back into it. I currently need #1 to have the complete Amazing Spider-Man collection. I invite you to check out my web site at
